As some of you may or may not know, the original slew of Garbage Pail Kid cards in the 1980s lasted fifteen series. There was a 16th series made; the images had all been drawn and painted and the cards were ready to go. But Topps decided that GPKs were no longer profitable and the 16th series was never released.
In 2003, Topps decided to bring Garbage Pail Kids back with new cards and artwork. They started the series off with the "lost" 16th series. The reason is because every scene is cryptically symbolic or representative of some deep metaphor that only the director understands. Because of this, the movie is rather nonsensical and extremely random. It was made in 1973 and directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky.
Sam & Max is a hilarious underground comic (which later turned into a not so hilarious saturday morning cartoon show). The comic is written and illustrated by Steve Purcell.
Here they are in a short six-page adventure entitled, "Fair Wind to Java."
You can purchase a brand new Sam & Max book which compiles EVERY Sam & Max comic EVER made!! Check it out here!
